Handcrafted Bamboo Matcha Whisk – The Ritual Tool for a Perfect Brew
Made from 100% natural bamboo, this traditional whisk is essential for achieving a smooth, frothy matcha—no clumps, just flavour. Designed to elevate your daily matcha ritual, it helps maximise taste and texture for a nourishing start to your day.
How to Use:

Soak before use:
Before each use, soak the whisk in warm water for 30–60 seconds. This softens the bamboo and helps prevent breakage. -
Sift your matcha:
Place 1–2g (about ½ to 1 tsp) of ceremonial matcha powder through a fine mesh sieve into a matcha bowl to remove clumps. -
Add water:
Pour in 60–80 mL of hot (not boiling) water – around 80°C (176°F) is ideal. -
Whisk using a 'W' motion:
Hold the whisk upright and move your wrist in a quick "W" or "M" zig-zag motion (not circular) to aerate the matcha and create a light, even froth.
Care Tip:
Rinse immediately after use
Rinse with warm water only – never use soap or the dishwasher as it can damage the bamboo and leave residue.
Dry naturally
Gently shake off excess water and place the whisk upright or on a whisk holder (kusenaoshi) to retain its shape. Avoid storing in enclosed or humid spaces.
Avoid prolonged soaking
Don’t leave your whisk submerged in water – it can cause the bamboo to split or mould over time.
